Donna is beginning to catch broadsides over at TOPIX. The villagers are surrounding the OD with torches and pitchforks.

Well, I guess probably having her kid get a hit and run and DWI didn't help. The coverage or lack thereof is understandable, but it adds to the biased reporting that the OD is noted for. The obvious pro-New Hartford slant on the news is sickening. The involvement in New Hartford politics is not the job of the Utica newspaper. The paper serves the whole Mohawk Valley, and needs to get their asses out of NH school board and town political frays and report some REAL news.
I think Donna has her tail in a knot because people pissed in her rice krispies when her kid got hammered on the forums with his foolishness. Hell, anyone that goes out for beers can get a DWI, but to hit and run, is not understandable at all. He could have killed the old man, and just like Ted Kennedy, he ran to save his own ass.

I see that Andrew still covers legion baseball, but I haven't seen the banner at the top of the OD homepage for his blog lately. Does he still have the blog? He obviously still has his job, but I was just curious if the blog was still in existence.

Well, I think people are finally starting to get fed up with the disgrace's lackluster reporting. With better access to more news sources and sources that do a much better job of covering local news, people are finally starting to realize that the disgrace only reports what will promote donna's personal and political agenda.

Well I know she doesn't like Utica Area Discussions. The whole reason we started up 9 years ago was due to the censorship on the OD forums. We ended up grabbing a lot of their contributors (plus a politician or 2). But we're dead now. Are their forums even around anymore??

The od forums died again, but yours looks like it might pick up if we keep boosting it along. I just joined the band of outlaws over there, but so far I enjoy it very much. Hell, UAD can't die. It took me too long to get membership, haha.

I just pinched myself and I's real as real gets! I would like to see Cynthia back though. Of course, if you think we're toast -- then let's all migrate here.

I hope UAD doesn't bite the dust. There is a always room for different formats and different points of view, and UAD is a good forum. Hell, if Donna had anything to say about it, this forum would not make it either. We started this one for the same reason you guys started UAD, except 9 years later, haha.
Cynthia is welcome here if she wants to join us. I didn't catch the details when she signed off on the UAD board, but shit happens and disagreements come about occasionally. We try to resolve things peacefully here. We sometimes just agree to disagree, simply in the interest of keeping things civil and friendly.
We have had a couple of real pissing contests on this forum too. I was involved in both of them, unfortunately. In most cases we have been able to moderate any disagreements to the satisfaction of Admin and the people involved in the disagreement.

One more reason added to the list as in why I will never buy a paper from them. If you could even call it a paper.

Rick, you are one of my favorite people at UAD!!! When I said it was 'dead', I meant as compared to how it used to be.

Rick, you are one of my favorite people at UAD!!! When I said it was 'dead', I meant as compared to how it used to be. Ahh.. okay. I figured that and yes, I'll hang in there. No worries! Donna Donovan's editorial said: "Find a particular opinion columnist annoying? Then skip that column.
But as you flip through, and over, the many different pages of the newspaper, no doubt you’ll find something else of interest." Well... What happens when follow that logic and get to the last page of the newspaper? I watched my Dad get old and read that OD for his entire life. He always let the various carrier slip-ups go, and he was a lifelong business advertiser too. Then as he and my Mom got into their 'golden' years he'd read the obituaries. He'd do it because his customer base was aging too. So periodically, I would get told or telephoned to be told that Mr or Mrs. So-n-so had died. Dad would send a sympathy card or flowers. A few of his long time customers made sure their children, after those kids had grown, knew where to buy and bring in their vacuum cleaners. Anyway, my Dad died. Not a word from the OD other than the obit that his grown kids paid for. And as I recall, nearly all the editorial group there over the years had done repeated business with him. If newspapers can't recall and signify its advertising base and the citizens that make the Mohawk Valley community a great place .. then let the building fall down around Donna Donovan's ears. Because she's deaf to the important things of life and people.
