The Rev. Christine Williams-Belt has arrived!
Welcome to our next Rector! She has arrived in here in Utica!
Her first Sunday at Grace Church will be June 2.
Hello all,
We are on our way to Utica for our first night in a new place to call home. I am so excited about being called to Grace and I look forward to the many adventures and the abundance of God's love we will share with out city!! We are getting so very close now!!
God be with us in all that will come!!
The Rev. Christine Williams-Belt is Canadian born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Although unchurched, she believed in God her whole life. It was in 1998 she confessed her faith in God and began to live in the example of Christ’s image and ministry. Rev. Christine felt her initial call to ministry after graduating with her undergraduate degree. In 2005, she moved to Kingston, Ontario to attend seminary obtaining a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Restorative Justice.
Her call to ministry came subtly resulting in her ordination to the Sacred Order of Priests on November 21, 2010 in the Diocese of Ontario of the Anglican Church of Canada. She served in several parishes to include St. George's Cathedral (Kingston, Ontario) as a Curate. In her last Canadian appointment, her ministry discerned and laid the groundwork to the development of affordable housing, a community center, and the parish church into a mission of the Diocese. Following this, she spent a couple of years in Germany before moving to Georgia where she served as an interim Rector of an Episcopal parish in the Diocese of Atlanta.
Rev. Christine has accepted the call to Grace Episcopal Church in Utica NY and is excited for the opportunity to continue to serve as a priest of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Central New York. She is passionate about social justice, equality, and Jesus call to love God and neighbor. Rev. Christine enjoys sharing the Gospel as a means to inspire people to be the church in thought, word, and deed. She comes to the Diocese with a great deal of experience with pastoral and administrative operations of the Parish as well as the means to develop strong relationships within the community.
Looking forward to becoming the first female Rector at Grace Church, Rev. Christine will begin he call June 1st 2019. She will arrive with her two-year-old boy named Owen Elijah Dave.
