wibx950.com/judge-cites-domestic-violence-arrest-revokes-dave-gordons-pistol-permit/Whether innocent or guilty of the original charges that were dropped it looks like the muddy waters of politics are being stirred and roiled again. The allegations against Bill Keeler from 2017 obviously were not forgotten and it looks to me as though WIBX is probably smiling as they lob a grenade into Mr. Gordon's campaign for county exec by focusing the spotlight on Judge Dwyer's decision to revoke his pistol permit. Let's face it. The arrest and allegations against Mr. Gordon were most likely going to be brought out and used by his opponent at some point in the campaign, but Judge Dwyer's decision and WIBX's publicizing of the action certainly puts an extra arrow in the opposition's quiver that is certain to be fired at some point. I guess it is just another example of what politics has become in 2019. It's probably only a hint of what is to come in the campaign for county exec. Mr. Gordon better buckle up. It's probably going to be a bumpy ride.

At this point I think Gordon comes across as someone who is desperate to be validated by winning an election to something. His qualifications are an afterthought.

I kind of like the guy a little sassy. But I do like the County Executive better. I may vote for him. I had a bunch of these reptiles come a knocking to at my door seeking a signature. Told them all to get lost and reminded them they were breaking the law being in this building since we do not allow solicitations of any kind. Ha Ha Ha

I think Gordon lost me when the news of his arrest for domestic violence came out and he blamed it on his girlfriend being "hormonal" because she was pregnant.

I agree CB. In my mind there is absolutely no excuse for striking a woman. Especially a pregnant woman. That alone tells me that he has a foul temper and anger management issues. Not a temperament compatible with the stresses that come with political office and public service.

I was approached to run again this year and declined, mainly because I can't with my work schedule, but secondly because the people that asked were also working with Gordon. Whatever they touch seems to be loaded with vile and extremist views towards anyone serving in office. Nothing is perfect, certainly not in politics, and especially in Utica and the rest of New York State. CB is right, he's looking for validation for "something". I think he would run for dog catcher if it was a shoe in to the rest of the political arena.

On the WKTV News just now Gordon accused Picenti of having had an affair and fathered a child and the woman and her son are living down South. Of course the County Executive said it was a total lie.

Does he think that where Picente happens to have dunked his dicky really affects his ability to serve he people of Oneida county? I have a better chance of getting pregnant than Gordon does of being elected county exec.

www.wktv.com/content/news/Picente-vehemently-refutes-Gordons-claims-of-affair-509979811.htmlI would say that if this Gordon fellow is investing any money in his campaign it would most likely behoove him to curtail any further spending. I would venture to say that having his latest slanderous claims refuted by all the parties accused of involvement will be the death knell to any chance of a successful campaign. I think that the fact that he is an alleged Bernie Sanders supporter should be enough to sink any chance of very many republicans voting for him. Does he have some misguided delusions of grandeur or is he simply a glutton for punishment? Politics today seems to lack any degree of positivity. It seems that even campaigns that start out with a positive message and a laudable agenda rapidly fall into the trap of defending themselves from negative attacks by opposing candidates. Of course in defending themselves they tend to fight fire with fire and go off on a tangent that leads to them spending their time digging dirt instead of accentuating the positive attributes of their own agenda. It becomes a case of voting based on the mudslinging rather than on the positive attributes of a candidate. To this point Picente is the winner in this particular scuffle. He has been able to defend himself rather successfully against the allegations without getting down and dirty with counter attacks. Gordon is digging his own grave and so far Picente hasn't needed to grab a shovel and assist in burying Gordon's chances of a successful primary run.

Now he has to show the evidence he has against Picente.
