This should be interesting to watch this play out. Poor little Andy Donovan. Someone must have spiked his soda! I wonder what mommy will have to say about this little incident. LOL Will there be a comment section attached when and if it makes the paper?? Probably the only thing that will make the paper is a statement that the matter is under investigation, and that they cannot comment, pending adjudication of the case. I can't wait to see what "Topix" will have to say in the next few days, hahahaha! Is the kid not smart enough to stop and take the DWI instead of running home to mommy and daddy, and compounding the problems??? Hmmm. I wonder what Donna's influence is with the new regime at the UPD and in city court. I am sure she has friends with influence within the NH PD and courts. Hey, I gotta run! Gotta see if swimmy has beat me to TOPIX, lolololol!

I feel sorry for the kid, no matter who he belongs to. He will have a hard lesson to learn and I hope he does. His life and those of his future potential victims will depend upon it.

Been there and done that with the booze thing. I never had a DWI, but if I were to have gotten one, I think I might have thought twice about doing it again in such a short period of time.
I don't have much sympathy for the kid. I was married to a drunk driver for a few years and I could not stop her either. The law finally caught up and put an anchor on that situation several years after I left her. Hopefully he will learn before he kills someone. Hopefully he can go back to college with an ankle bracelet and probation. That should crimp his partying a little bit
If one wants to party, there are alternatives to driving while drunk. I only hope for an awakening for the kid before he is killed or kills someone else. Donna's money won't help if she bails him out only to lose him to a DWI Wreck later on.

A couple comments:
It was in my copy of this morning's paper, same page as the other police news.
I don't know him well but Andrew Donovan is not a bad kid. Emphasize "kid". I'm always torn by these stories. It's too easy to remember the dumb stuff I did.

Unfortunately spoiled rich youngsters don't have to be bad kids to get into bad situations. I just don't see why an an alleged SECOND ONE in ninety days is necessary to learn a lesson.
I put nothing past youngsters. I was a drunk when I was young, and I have a son that made it all the way through high school without problem and got into drugs in his twenties.
I would be interested to know if it is true that it was a second offense in 90 days. If so, my sympathy level will drop way down.

Half of the topics on Topix today are about Andy Donovan.
Personally, I think the old guy should have gotten a ticket for obstructing traffic. ::snarf::

Are there two of 'em? The WKTV on-line story said he was no relation to the Andy Donovan working at WKTV (who might be the kid who "writes" the web news stories.) See: www.wktv.com/news/local/20393459.html Since they would (might) both be in the news business, could some respondents be confusing the two?

lilbump, I have nothing but praise for the gumption of a kid like andrew donovan from whitesboro, but I think he should take a news writing course.

Maybe if he wasn't cutting English class to "work" at wktv, he would have picked up the grammar lessons necessary to be taken seriously.

I hope people are getting the picture a bit clearer now. Donna Donovan has long made a point to editorialize on underage drinking and schpieling people's dirty laundry in her rag. But suddenly, for once, when contacted for a comment from WKTV in their article she says "no comment"! I guess Donna likes to comment on everyone's dirty laundry for profit except when it affects her own. Countless papers have been sold by her sensationalizing DWI incidents even special suppliments when big DWI cases come up! Suppliments teaching the dangers of underage drinking... but when it hits close to home we see the true color of that yellow rag. Hypocrite Dirty Donna! Haven't bought that rag in years and this reminds me why. Maybe Gannet saw what she was and that's why they dropped her like yesterday's call-girl!

Might there be a bit of "Divine Retribution" in all this? The Observer Dishrag just dragged Father Krul of NY Mills through the mud lately about his mis-step with drink and the law.

I am just curious if the kid actually had TWO DWI's in 90 days, or if that is rumor. Yes it is ironic that this has happened just after they crucified the priest in print.
It has made the slander site at TOPIX interesting reading for a couple of days. LOL.
The boys will be boys defense doesn't work when you rip the door off of an old mans car, as he is getting ready to get out of it, and then run for home.
That is just spoiled brat shit, hoping that mom and dad can keep your young ass out of jail. I bet it worked too. Had be been apprehended at the scene, he would have been held for arraignment in a cell. As it was, he may have avoided being held in a cell at all, and simply was arraigned and allowed to post bail and go home with mommy. That is just an assumption on my part.

Funny how it is always a "Do as I say, not as I do" philosophy that wins out in the end. And by funny, I mean unfortunate.
