Fair coverage sometimes in the eye of the beholderHahahahahahahahahaha! I couldn't stop laughing as the paper cried wolf in this article. It's amazing that people would defend stupidity. I'm not trying to be arrogant; I'm being honest. For two years, elizabeth cooper insisted -- as townsend still does -- that the Oneidas' land-trust application was an attempt to "effectively circumvent a U.S. Sup. Ct. decision." It did not matter how many times I quoted Justice Ginsburg's words. She still insisted on pushing a blatant lie! She wrote back to me saying that she understood, I wasn't the only person to correct her on the subject, and that she would not insist on that line of rhetoric again. But the arrogant elizabeth cooper wrote it in every article for the next two weeks. It was not until I called into question her intelligence to understand basic English principles that cooper finally dropped that line of rhetoric. I still cannot believe how someone allegedly educated by "the best journalism school in the country" could so foolishly believe that following the Supreme Court's instruction was an attempt to circumvent its decision. And to have the editors come on and defend her on lying to the public and abusing her power as a news reporter is just more evidence of how disgraceful the paper is!

Quick! Look it probably won't last long if at all so I re-printed it here.
------- This is a great time to repeat my editorial in April about OD coverage: The USUAL Job Well Done I must congratulate the Observer Dispatch for its totally unbiased reporting of the Anniversary of the Iraq war every day the last week. The paper’s addition of the many local and syndicated columnists who sided with the war’s importance and the rebuttals of the usual liberal legends was displayed with wondrous omission. I surely enjoyed your interviews of supporters of the mission over in Iraq and Afghanistan, equalizing the enormous coverage paid to the protestors of the conflict. As usual both sides were well defined and thoroughly discussed so one could not possibly make one’s own decisions of how to think. I also appreciate your printing this information in the same usual section of your paper you print all the success stories of Iraq and Afghanistan. I have only one question; when will that section ever be printed?

(Swimmy I think I'm proving your point) Well they didn't like that one, how 'bout this one?
I was a continuing contributer to Friday's viewpoint until all of a sudden all my entries were getting heavily edited and printed out of context. Only a third of the last one was printed and made me sound like a jerk. I wrote a letter to the editor staff and, of course, have yet to receive an answer. Fair and balanced? Look from the outside in and you will see a totaly different picture

Swimmy,
Hey! They printed the whole thing word for word (except a typo they made)! Guess that letter had some effect?

Swimmy,
Anne didn't have a chance with the parading of editorials from the usual suspects led by the seminar liberals that clock in and spread out to ensure a constant rant within a 30 day cycle as restricted by the OD's editorial rules. Ever notice?
