A ton of candidates out there and at this point there's no telling who will win the primaries....but at this point, who are you rooting for?
I'd love to say I want Hilary...just to stir the pot but I think at this point, I'd vote for Barrack if the elections were held today.

I don't like anyone. I should run! Actually, though, I wouldn't do that job for all the money in the world.
You know what I'd like to see? A disabled, black, Jewish female for president. We need change....that would be a change!
I don't know who I'd vote for if there election were held today. Probably Clinton (really) or Obama. Also Edwards, but he doesn't seem to have a chance. I've voted for him before, though! I still have a Kerry/Edwards sticker on my son's wagon, which I think annoys some of my neighbors.

I'm all for Edwards. I think he is the greatest candidate for this country. hilary, don't even get me started on her. Obama would be my third choice, with McCain taking my second choice.

For honesty and integrity I think McCain and Huckabee win hands down. For domestic policy I tend to lean towards Clinton on some issues (primarily education) and for international policy I like Giuliani and McCain. So right now I'm all over the place I guess.
Obama scares me a bit because of his Madrassa education. Those places are the most virulant anti-American institutions in the world and I haven't heard enough of an explaination from him regarding that. Until that is resolved I would have a hard time trusting him with the fate of this nation.

I find that McCain is my logical choice. We are at war. Whether we agree with how we got there and whether there were weapons of mass destruction or not, we are in war, and it has become the war on terror. Whether Bin laden and company were in Iraq at the beginning or not, they are there now, and need to be squashed.
We have shed a lot of blood in the name of freedom for the iraqi people. They will never form a democratic government that looks like ours, but they will form a government that is not a dictatorship given time. Human rights violations will still exist in a muslim society, but there will be fewer of them under an elected government with a fair constitution and laws.
Bottom line is that we cannot cut and run. We cannot pull out on a short fused timetable. We cannot desert the people of Iraq and we cannot desecrate the memory of those brave soldiers that believed in their mission and died to make a difference.
Wars are not fought on the basis of 15 minute quarters, with a referee that will blow a whistle when it is over.Wars almost always go into "overtime" and difficult situations have to be resolved and lives are lost in the process.
John McCain is the only candidate that I have listened to so far that has any conception of how we can win and bring our troops home victorious. John McCain was a POW and knows better than any candidate the significance of war and it's horrors. I am sure he will be capable of insuring a suitable course to pursue and a victory in the end.
Bush has made a shambles of the war, the country, and our image in the rest of the world. We would be well served to elect a democrat if it were possible to find a democrat that was not a bush basher, and focused on "taking the whitehouse back" and not on the world's problems and issues of concern to US citizens nationwide. Unfotunately there is no Democrat running that has the capability to carry us into the "light".
After John Kerry's defeat in the last election, the focus turned to revenge and hatred. The focus turned to people like Nancy Pelosi and Kennedy, and Kerry and constant ranting against the whitehouse and the administration. Democrats have bordered on treason with their ranting and bashing our president and our country's position in fighting terror. Our soldiers are endangered by the insensitive and wreckless lack of unity as a country, shown by democrats lack of support for the war and for our troops.
We need a democrat in the whitehouse, but NOT THIS TIME. We need McCain to bring us out of the war victorious, to make our soldiers sacrifices worthwhile, to bring them home proudly, instead of hanging their heads in defeat as we did when we returned from Viet Nam.
World peace and our security depend on it. We cannot back down and we cannot try to hide at home. We will bring it to our shores if we don't defeat it there. Who cannot comprehend that fact? We can fight to prevent suicide attacks in Baghdad or we can come home and wait for someone to blow themselves up at a ballgame in Yankee stadium, or on a subway train in Washington DC.
Be smart and elect level headed guidance in John McCain in 2008, and wait until 2112 to elect a democrat. Maybe by then, the dems will be over the 2004 defeat of the "swift boat coward" and "ketchup queen's boy toy". Maybe by then we will have settled some world issues and will be ready and capable of putting a dem in the whitehouse to address internal american issues of economic and healthcare concern.
Make no mistake. We lead the world. We need to patch our alliances that bush has put holes in. We need to regain the respect of the world community and re-establish our diplomatic reputation. Hillary isn't going to do it, and we darn sure don't need billy back in DC. Obama is alright, but not up to the task of handling the sensitive issues facing us today. He needs to come back in 2112 with a little more experience and no war to withdraw prematurely from.
Vote for a strong and revitialized world power. Vote for military sensibility in a time when our military is in action and needing support and guidance. Vote for a man capable of mending our world fences without conceding weakness. Dems for pres in 2112, McCain for NOW!

Clipper, McCain has no greater ability to ensure a victory than any of the others. We don't need to mend our world fences. The Islamofacists need to be marginalized, ostracized and made incapable of conducting terrorism.
We need a president and a congress who will provide us and the world with the resources to make that happen.
Realistically, I believe all of the current candidates (even Ron Paul) are capable of providing the leadership to accomplish a successful ending.
But we the people have to make sure our leaders know that's what we expect. It'll probably take another, larger atrocity than 911 before we can get a consensus on it, though. Sad.

I think I should be the next Prez!!!!
If elected, I promise to lower gas prices, lower taxes, address campaign finance reform, eliminate welfare and start workfare, piss test anyone on welfare(cuz I know I can't eliminate welfare but if they test positve...they're cutoff), cut pork barrel spending, nuke all persons who have committed acts of aggression, threats of aggression, or any general smiting or attempt to change the ways of America and the foundation of history, reinstate "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance in schools, make all toll roads free, cut off lifetime health coverage for post-term politicians(give them and 80/20 plan likee most people are offered or mail them an application for welfare), and blah, blah, blah.
Send a true American Patriot to Washington that will make a difference(for a day probably). We need change.(preferably only silver cuz pennies are going to be extinct). Together we CAN make a difference.

I would so vote for you. Trouble is, you represent ACTUAL change. The public won't have any of that. They would not be able to complain about the government anymore. They like to whine and complain, but not really do much. They'll vote out one party over the other to get a sense of accomplishment. But all they have done is change the players, not the game. I didn't think it would be possible for Congress to have a LOWER rating than President Bush.

If I were President, I'd start by selling all federal buildings and national parks and eliminate the Veterans Administration and Departments of Education and Energy. Then I'd go to sleep and think about what I'd do on day 2.
Who should be president? At this point, only one thing is clear to me. It should not be any of the leading candidates today.

I was truly saddened to hear that Edwards dropped. I was still hoping hrc would realize her hypocrisy and be struck dead by God and have Obama concede to him.

There is no candidate that should be President. It's a matter of picking the lesser of the evils. I guess if I have to I would pick Huckabee or McCain. Huckabee seems down to earth and sincere.

I'm with you wcup102. It will be who to pick among the lesser of how ever many evils end up on the ballot. I don't think right now is the time for people to vote for somebody because it would make history (first black President, first woman President). We've got too much crap going on for that. Besides, these canidates can make all the campaign promises they want, most of them don't happen because they don't get past Congress.
You end up picking who you think is bullshiting the least. I still haven't waded through it all to figure out who that is! And it was probably somebody that droped out of the race!
