Thanks, Tony, but all I did was open a thread for each past musician in the Musician's Memorial Wall. I've asked Ralph if he would do us a big favor and accomplish the tedious task of making each tag a "sticky." (I can't do it, I'm not an admin here.) In that way the threads will stay in in alphabetical order ... even while people post to them. In other words, the last threaded posted to will NOT bubble up to the top of the list. It's a long list, unfortunately, and keeping it mostly in alphabetical order will make it easier for folks to find the musician and post a memory or fact or whatever. Dave

OK, Ralph has "stickyfied" each of the musician's threads on the Musicians' Memorial Wall so that they will stay in rough alphabetical order, making them easier to find. Thanks a million, Ralph. I know that was tedious!
You can use the top Post, "PLEASE READ THIS FIRST," to make general comments or suggestions.
So, have at it! Post your memories about each guy and favorite music, etc.
I know there's a lot that's been posted in other threads. I'm thinking of just copying some of it from where the comments currently reside into the new thread. Of course, I would attribute each copy to its author and I would leave the comment in both places. If you have a problem with that, please let me know. Dave

Questions: Are the name spellings correct, as far as we know? I corrected Tommy Migliaccio and Emil Warchol. Is Ed MeLee correct? Or should it be Miehle? What about Tony Shaheen?

Dave, let TonyJ make that call. I know their legal name was spelled Sheheen and that is the way his sisters spell it. His first name was Anthony as his family called him but his friends called him Tony.

Local guitar and bass player, Jimmy Palladino (James Anthony Palladino, born 1/25/40) passed away on 11/30/08, in San Antonio Texas. Jimmy was born in Utica, and, was a member of the original "Plaids" band. He was a great musician and could play all kinds of music. In the late 60's, Jimmy and I were living in the west valley area of L.A., at the same time, and we played many club dates together. He eventually moved to the San Antonio area to be near his sister and her family. At that time he was very active as a side man, playing predominantly country western music, all thru the southwest. He had a great sense of humor, and, a quick temper. He was in poor health for quite awhile before his passing. I'll never forget the good times.

Just heard that Tom Acey, a great drummer in his earlier years, has passed away. Obit hasn't been published yet, but it should appear in the Utica Observer Dispatch soon.

He was also a star football player for UFA in the late 50's or early 60's if it is the same Tom Acey that I am thinking about.

Tom Acey's obituary appears in today's OD. Online OD obits can be viewed at www.legacy.com/obituaries/uticaod/Clipper, I imagine this was the same Tom Acey who played football for UFA in the early 60s. I remember that Tom always had a smile for everyone, and was a hell of a drummer.
