31 acres? yep, like I said, half the state, haha. A truckler asked me one time on the CB radio, how far it was across Rhode Island. I told him if you stop at the line between Connecticut and Rhode Island, and put the truck in low gear, you can accellerate and shift and by the time you get to 10th gear, you will have passed through Rhode Island and will be well into Massachusetts, LOL.

Clipper, is that loaded or unloaded? It might make a difference if you're shifting the axle too.
"Gimme forty acres and I'll turn this rig around ..."

Gee, if ya need forty acres to turn that rig around, the indians will have to lease another 9 acres in order to turn trucks around on casino property. Loaded or unloaded?? Ya never should drive loaded, even in a car, much less a tractor trailer, haha. Don't ya watch the commercials on TV?

I find it interesting that the EIS mentioned the illegality or legality of the turning stone's operations. After reading that, maybe that's what Picente hopes to appeal? I thought the issue was pretty much settled after Cason's letter stating that the compact remains in effect. I know the argument is that the turning stone is not on indian land, but as the EIS points out, it is, technically.

Authority to Acquire Lands in New York State in Trust. The U.S. Secretary of the Interior’s primary statutory authority for the discretionary acquisition of land in trust is Section 5 of the Indian Reorganization Act (IRA) of 1934, 25 U.S.C. § 465, with implementing regulations at 25 C.F.R. Part 151. Authority for this statute derives from the Indian Commerce Clause of the Constitution, Art. I § 8, cl. 3. The State of New York is not excluded from this framework by virtue of being one of the thirteen original colonies.FEIS Report Common Responses to Individual Public Comment page 5Should I go to the disgrace and request that I receive a portion of cooper's paycheck? Seriously?! How hard would it have been for her to do such elementary research? The incompetence and bigotry begets stupidity!

Well, I got really insulted when he alluded to the idea I didn't know what I was talking about. The land claim is NOT baseless. And I know more than anyone what equality and fairness means. Then when he ignored all my points and kept backtracking and flip-flopping, I had had enough.
