Has any seen any robins, yet? We are in the late end of spring and I haven't seen any robins. All I see are black birds, sparrows and pigeons.

I see those guys all the time as they are the ones usually landing on my patio. (i hate pigeons...they are a disgusting dirty bird..always pooping on my patio) I really haven't been paying attention to birds except I did see a red winged black bird the other day and I heard what sounded like a woodpecker but he wasn't pecking just his call sounded like he was sitting on a tree branch. Not sure what type of bird it was...anyone??? One day I was surprised by a red tail hawk landing on my railing.

They're all in my back yard pigging out on the bird food. Can't keep up with the little buggers. Our humming birds are now coming around since I put up their feeders last week here in the city and at camp. Just love watching them. Wish my eyes were a little better. The damn things are so little and fast I have a hard time keeping up with them. ;D

They say that's the first thing to go.
Or maybe it's the memory, I forget.

I think that we get the northern robins when they migrate back and forth. When spring comes here, we are inundated with robins, I mean like 15-20 at a time, browsing for worms and bugs. Then as the spring wears on and the weather warms farther north, we see them decrease except for mating pairs that have nested here.
My favorite birds here are the finches. I have red, blue, yellow(gold), and pale green ones. I never had seen anything but gold finches and a few red ones up there. Those finches and the hummingbirds are my favorites to watch.

Frankie, actually it's a toss up between the sight and the memory. Take your pick. Neither are what they use to be. ;D ps: The hearing is running pretty damn close to both also.

Hearing is somewhat diminished from working under jets when I was a firefighter at the base, and from the twin 50's, but I can live with that. My eyes aren't bad with glasses. It is the arthritis that makes life miserable. Hell, old age ain't for sissies is it sunshine? haha.
Hell, look on the bright side, when we get in our 60's we don't need a weather man anymore to tell us if it is going to rain. LOL
Heck, I just wake up in the morning and thank God for letting me have another day. I have lost a lot of friends already, that died much younger than I am now, and I know that you have too kiddo.

Sorry I was afraid of that. That is why I hate using Kodak Gallery...they make it tuff to share and usually you must sign in to view. (meaning the person if they don't have their own account must register to view. I hate that. No wonder Kodak is going down the tubes. They are never on top of what's going on in today's world. (they thought film would be forever and refused to go digital till it ws too late....now half of Kodak doesn't exist) I rarely use my account ..actually only when someone from Kodak sends me stuff. I prefer Webshots.

I love when I'm filling the feeders and they come along and just hover and wait for me to finish.
Great pictures Chris.

Geez Chris, did you take those pictures up at my camp today? All looks mighty familiar. While we were up there today going in and out of camp those little buggers were flying all around us. I keep moving their feeders and it's driving them crazy finding them again but as they're looking they almost bump right into us. ;D I really enjoy having them with us. I could watch them all day long. They are one of God's special creatures. Thank you for posting the pictures.
