Concerned, don't want to put myself on a higher pedestal but I will never become immune to any death around me. I value and hold life very precious. I may not be able to physically help those in a tragedy but I can and do pray for all. I will do, whatever, I can possibly do to assist anyone in need. Throughout my life and having to deal with some tragedy in my own family I have learned not to bitch about or waste time on the little things that just annoy us. If something is important I do work to try to correct the problem but I will not just sit around and pitch a bitch about something I'm not willing to help correct. I suggest you lighten up on live and take the time to smell the roses that are in front of you. They might be few but you are still here to take in the scent that comes your way. Not so for many, including 14 people in this tragedy today. It proves what I've learned in my many years, and that is there is always someone carrying a bigger cross that you have to bear. I always take time to smell the roses, finding them is difficult.

Ain't that damn good! Concerned, if you woke up this morning then you're capable of smelling and finding the scents. Geez, be happy about something the good Lord is giving you. ;D I always thought for those that didn't appreciate the little things in life (like just waking up in the morn) that I wish I could trade their place with those who fought to hold on to life.

Ralph, your verse said it all and pretty much sums up how I feel about the same. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Hey Concerned, took my little Phyllis out very early this morn to do her business. Have to make sure she is doing well in that field since she just had surgery and she did succeed well in relieving herself with no problems. Big relief for both of us. I hated to step outside with her because it was gloomy, cool and pouring out and I did have a moment of bitching to myself about all the rain we've had in these last few days till I saw all my lilies and tulips spouting out of the ground. That changed my attitude very quickly and the pouring rain didn't matter any more. ;D That's what I'm talking about. Just take the time to find some good in the bad.

You're right as rain, Bobbbiez. And that's no pun. I was thinking the same thing when I stepped outside this morning. Although cool, Creation wants it's way. The grass is greening and daffodils are slurping up the rain. (No tulips here, yet.)
Sometimes we forget that life is a gift. We get lost inside our heads. I'm sure that's what happened to the shooter in Binghamton.
By the way, are you taking care of your foot? Is it getting better?

Dave, I always enjoy your little puns. They have put a smile on my face many a times. Don't lose the talent. Now that my little Lady is at rest and in wonderful hands and my little Phyllis is doing well so far after her surgery I will be able to concentrate on the foot. Had to wait to take care of them before I couldn't care for myself. My surgery is scheduled for April 17. Can't wait till it's all over and I can walk normal again and without the pain. That will be a big relief on me physically and mentally. Once I get over the three week recovery period of being off my feet after the surgery and the physically therapy, I'll be like a new woman. Sounds really good to me. Then maybe I can start to kick some a**es again. ;D Let's see......who can I start with?

Actually, being the fair person that I am it's either flip a coin between you three or start alphabetically. Take your pick. ;D ps: Pretty sure which one Clipper will choose but remember it will be two against one.

Heck, kick my dupa first. If I am first, you will not be limbered up yet, but when you get to the other two, you will be warmed up and ready to give them a good boot, LOL.

[/quote If I look out my window all I see is blacktop parking lots and concrete. If I go outside the same thing. We are not allowed to have any real or artifical plants or flowers on the MHA grounds. I put some artifical tulips in the broken down flower planter in the front of our building and maintanence threw them away. The park across the street is filled with strange individuals. And everyone sitting outside( which is illegal, no sitting in front or back of the building----which is stupid because that is where the benches are) are in wheelchairs, walkers or scooters. I'm waiting for the day to get my very own scooter.

Concerned, have a great solution for you. How bout you get yourself an indoor tulip or lily plant. I prefer the lily plant but both are springy. They are very cheap right now. Really not much care to them and they will brighten up your days. You're not alone in your problems. I remember when I didn't have a back yard and lived in a very dark and dreary apartment building on John St. Not to mention having to deal with many undesirable creepy-crawlers and some pretty weird neighbors, other tenants. You might remember the building. It was on the corner of Bleecker and John. There was a hugh fire there after we were fortunate enough to move out of. Not all was great in my life either but with time and some hard work I was able to "come a long way baby." You can do the same. Until then just make the best of what you have and find ways to brighten your days. ;D
