Anybody remember Dale Rider? He played bass didn't he? Anybody know what kind of bass he played? He had an older sister that dated an Italian fellow that sang with a band...anybody remember who that was? The year was 1955-56. How about Beverly Blaine (Goldberg), she sang sometimes with the Ted Jones Trio... I think that was a little earlier.

I don't know Beverly Blaine, but I replaced Dale Ryder as the bass player in The Nitecaps. We were the house band at White's Inn (later became Massoud's Oud and now is a church) in Washington Mills in 1959 and 60.
Dale's sister and mother ran the trailer park at the end of Oxford Rd. just before getting to Oneida St. in Chadwicks. That was around 1955-56. She was very fond of old sports cars like the MG, Austin Healey, Triumph, etc. She knew my older brother Peter (now deceased) but I don't know who she married.

I suggest that we move future posts concerning this subject to the Bebop thread that already exists, and has 36 pages of posts. It is a popular thread, and in the interests of keeping it alive, while not scattering the inputs to it all over the board, I strongly suggest that we continue the discussion while posting to the other thread, rather than deflecting discussion to a whole new thread.
Eric and the Chessmen are discussed in depth and detail by many posters on the other thread. Jon Hynes was a member of the band, and has brought alot of the factual history of the band to light.
Dale Ryder and his history is also documented on the other thread, from when he played with Kit in the Nitecaps, and other bands.

Hey pasofino,
Clipper's right (and he's the boss) so lets head over to the other thread. Take a while and read the various pages. Lots of good stuff and some real sharp guys there who still have their memorys.

Having discussed it with Ralph and Kim, none of us can find a way to move this thread and combine it with the Bebop thread, so we will "lock" this thread, and I am advising everyone to continue to post on this subject on the "After Bebop a lula" thread.
We have 37 pages and still getting active posting daily on the other thread.
Thank you for participating Pasofino, and welcome to the Clipper's Busy Corner family!"
