They came to an agreement on the debt ceiling and now are patting each other on the back for a job well done, LOL. Hopefully this charade will get them thinking to drop this silly way of doing business and get rid of the debt ceiling concept once and for all. At least able bodied single persons on SNAP will need to continue the work requirement of 20 hours a week from age 18 to not 54. It went up a few more years. Why not just make it 65. Still a no on work requirements for those on Medicaid. Yep, as the hater's try to make poor people on SNAP lives as miserable as they can it appears that the IRS agents hired to enforce tax laws are going by the wayside. So the haters like McCarthy got their way in allowing their cronies to rob the rest of us blind. If Dems vote yes on this pile of sh*t they should have their heads examined. |

I think there should be some control on how much we borrow. Driving the car to the edge of the cliff seems to be the only way to get any negotiating of priorities. I won't pick any exaggerated examples, but I have done both household and corporate budgets and I know that there are always choices to be made and things that are needed but have to be put off for now.

The IRS got a substantial increase last year. The ask this year was another 15% increase. They got an increase but less than that. Almost every department got less than they asked.

There is absoutely no justification for undercutting the hiring of IRS tax enforcement agents, which will increase the defecit. Look who's dong the howling & flat out lying about hiring these agents. Multi millionaire loudmouths on Fox, millionaire senators like Ted Cruz who are outraged that their cronies may get caught cheating on their taxes & robbing the rest of us blind. That's what this Country is all about. Protecting the people who are bankrolling tje campaigns of Washington politicians & screwing with the poor & middle class. And Biden is just as bad as the rest of them for going along with this charade.

I have not seen any numbers on the returns on the additional agents who were hired last year.

In 2021 Charles Rettig IRS Commissioner testified to Congress that the Fed is losing approx. $1 TRILLION dollars a year in possible revenue because of tax cheats, cryptocurrency trading, underpayment of taxes etc etc. He pleaded with Congress to hire more enforcement agents which Biden had planned to due until people like Hannity & the Fox goon squad who are all multi millionaires had a fit over it. Not too mention guys like Lyin Ted who were also outraged at the prospect of their cronies being exposed for the lying thieves that they are. So what do we have? Layabouts like McCarthy accusing poor people on SNAP of sitting around all day despite the fact that the majority of people on SNAP are working poor with full time jobs. So, the middle class & the poor are going to get screwed as usual as the right wing hostage takers protect their multi millionaire pals.
