My husband & I were at the fair last night for the Def Leppard concert. I'm glad we didn't get there until 5 p.m. because it was very humid! The concert was fantastic! It was our 3rd time to see them, and we'd definitely go again!

Glad you enjoyed it! We're probably going on either this coming Sunday or Monday. There really is so much to see and do. I tend to wander and we never get home until late at night.
Hmmm... last concert that I saw there was... Kenny Rogers. There! Now I've 'dated' myself! ;D

You get a discount ticket if you arrive with a walker on Tuesday, haha!
Hey Rick, is dating yourself kinda like talking to yourself? If you can't get a date, you date yourself, is that the idea? I am glad I don't live in Mohawk. Social life there must be pretty boring for single folks.
They had to book Styx and Boston, because Perry Como and Bing Crosby are dead, and Neil Diamond is already booked. LOL

"Desperate in Mohawk" sounds like the name for a comedy spoof of "Drums Along the Mohawk." See Clipp, and I thought that was a proper way to time stamp myself.

The spoof of "drums along the mohawk" was back when I used to party in the valley in my younger days. We would load up my buddies at MVCC and we would drink our way down the valley and back. We called ourselves the "Bums along the mohawk" LOL. We always said that we drank along that route because no matter how drunk we got, we could just stay near the river or canal and find our way back to Utica. We would drink our way down the old 5S and back up Rt5 through Schuyler and N Utica.

Yeah, I used to sow my oats up behind Stars on Champlin Ave once upon a time. Can't tell you how many times the police chased us all out of those woods. My drinking and partying days are gone. I find myself turning into an old curmudgeon. Although (and my stalkers will love to read this!) I'm spending Monday at the State Fair! Maybe Hil and Bill will be there?

We were there on Monday. It was very crowded, as usual. The butter sculpture was cool, as always, but this year there is a cheese sculptor. She does some pretty interesting things with a block of cheese! Sand sculpture was no where near done and we couldn't tell what it was, so rick, let me know what it ended up being. We had some AWESOME maple soft serve ice cream. I'm not a huge maple fan (other than on my pancakes) but this was so creamy and not too mapley. If you don't want a cone, they'll give you a sample. I did not get my dinosaur bar-b-q sandwich. Sigh. There was too much of a line and I didn't want to wait. Maybe next year! And yes, I did get hay in my hair. Not from sleeping, but an ornary cow not happy with her accommodations!

Jeez CG. sorry you didn't get your Dinosaur barbecue sandwich. The next time I come across a brontosaurus grazing by the road, I will drop it with a single shot, field dress it, and send you the tenderloins and a hind quarter UPS.
You will need 50lbs garlic powder, 50lbs paprika, 15 lbs cayenne pepper, 50 lbs brown sugar, 10 lbs salt, and 5lbs of cracked black pepper. Mix it thoroughly and set it aside.
Depending on how big the brontosaurus that I bag is, you will most likely need the whole 180lbs of rub to barbecue the hind quarter.
You cook it for 3 days over a low fire, and when it stops dripping grease on the fire, you throw the meat away, and eat the greasy ashes from the grill.
Of course if it is easier for you, you can drive to Rochester and get the real thing from the restaurant.
