wibx950.com/boil-water-advisory-for-oxford-road-area-in-new-hartford/Is this affecting you and Barb CB? You don't know how much you depend on clean fresh water and we take it for granted that when we turn on a faucet there will be clean, clear water coming out, ready to drink. If you are in the area affected I hope that they have the situation remedied quickly. We recently had a one day boil water event when they were testing a new major main that supplies our area. We didn't bother with the boiling thing. I just went to Kroger's and bought $10 worth of 99 cent per gallon bottled water in jugs to make coffee, wash dishes and cook with for that one 24 hour period. We were able to shower with the water from the tap thank goodness. We thought we were killed when we had to hand wash the dinner dishes and dry them by hand, haha.

We were up at 5 yesterday in order to be at surgery by 6. We knew there was something wrong with the water supply as soon as we got up. I was NPO anyway and Barb made coffee with what was already in the K-machine so we were OK. We bought one of those 2.5 gallon jugs of water for drinking and coffee making. I didn't shower today because of yesterday's surgery and used bottled water for tooth brushing so I should be OK.

That's good. Glad you weren't adversely affected. How did surgery go? All is well today with minimal pain?

Covered some of that in the Pun thread. It is going well. The only pain is from the eye drops.
The day really went off the rails this afternoon. After my doctor appointment we picked up 2 grand kids. Their Mom had an after work appointment. Barb was delivering them late afternoon when her car was hit. She was on Kellogg by Hannafords whho en a young girl changed lanes without checking her blind spot. They pulled into the parking lot to exchange info and she called her Mom who then called her Dad. She was 17, her car was 2 weeks old and she had 3 other teens in the car.
No one hurt and no major damage but body and paint work can be surprisingly expensive.
After that she didn't feel like starting dinner so we went to Uno's. Leaving their parking lot we were almost hit by a car backing out, Plat on that car "Crazy 3."

I had a guy cut in front of me last nite right in front of Price Chopper in N.Utica. I had to slam on the brakes to avoid a rear ender. I blow the horn, the cretin flips me the bird like it's my fault. Nice.

I would bet he is also the one who did the same thing to a Bus I was on going passed Price Chopper but the light turned red so fast on him he was forced to stop which almost made the Bus I was on land in his lap. The Bus driver yelled ya wanna see what 30,000 lbs of Bus feels like up your ass!

I would think a person who cuts off buses is a candidate for a Darwin Award. A car will not win a collision with a bus.

CB you would be surprised how many people actually do cut off Buses. I see it at least once a month. Scary when it happens but they have some very good drivers. PS. LOL they misspelled New Hartford !!!!! I rarely watch WKTV news anymore for the evening newscast between 5-6. The bubbly cheerleader act displayed by KC is just too much for me. Give it a rest.

Is WUTR's coverage better than WKTV's? I used to like their reporting and news staff better than WKTV, but that was 20 yrs ago. I would watch one channel at 6 and then catch the 11 o'clock news on the other station. Our evening news here starts at 5 and goes until 6:30 followed by the national news from 6:30 to 7pm.

After that she didn't feel like starting dinner so we went to Uno's. Leaving their parking lot we were almost hit by a car backing out, Plat on that car "Crazy 3." It has gotten so it seems that everyone has their mind on everything but their driving. Not long ago I watched an accident happen in front of Food City. A car was stopped while exiting one of the parking lanes while they waited for the traffic in the main lane in front of the store. A woman in one of the handicap spaces simply put her car in gear and backed into that car hard enough to do some serious damage. She really rocked the car she hit. Sure enough, she had her phone propped between her chin and her shoulder so her mind was probably elsewhere. I have had people put their car in reverse and start to back up while I was walking behind them with my shopping cart. I am getting too damned old to that hop skip and jump to get out of their way, haha. I hate passing tractor trailers on the interstate. It seems that those drivers are also doing everything but driving. They wander back and forth in their lane, wandering right onto the line between the granny lane and the passing lane, sometimes squeezing a passing car onto the left shoulder rumble strips. Is it possible CB that we were the last generation that was taught how important it is to drive safely and pay attention to what we are doing? We didn't have electronic collision avoidance, automatic braking, or audible warnings if we wander from out lane and we certainly didn't have cars that drove themselves. I wonder how many young drivers even know how to parallel park. They are so used to parking side by side in mall parking lots. We had those spring loaded curb feelers to keep us from scuffing our white walls. Now Ford has cars that park themselves.

IMO WUTR is much more professional minus the teeny bopper nonsense at 5 & 6. And another thing that gets me about WKTV is every time they cover the opiod crisis for some reason they think it's neccesary to assault viewers with footage of addicts shooting up. Every time. I don't know if it's for the shock value or if they're that clueless thinking that viewers want to see that. I think I'm pretty thick skinned but the only time I want t see a syringe is when I'm getting a flu shot or I'm having lab work done.

I agree BHU, although I used to carry and insulin syringe in my tackle box to inflate a live nightcrawler with to make it float. My god, if I were to be caught with a syringe in my tackle box now, I would be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
