I used to love watching them perform when I was little. They were the highlight of every parade.

That was back in the days when Utica was a vibrant and fun city to live in. The parades that marched down Genessee Street were glorious events that were well attended. The Screaming Eagles, as well as the Magificent Yankee's Drum and Bugle Corps. always put on a great show as did the marching bands from both UFA and Proctor. It seems that in recent years people just aren't drawn to that sort of entertainment for one reason or another. About the only parade left in the city that draws any crowd at all is the St. Patrick's day parade, and after the parade everyone retreats to Varick Street to eat corned beef and cabbage before moving on to get falling down, puking, drunk. LOL.
I took the Screaming Eagles to Syracuse to march in a parade once when I was driving for CNY Coach. They all seemed to be nice kids, and the guy that was in charge of the group was really nice and was dedicated to the group and keeping kids off the streets and out of trouble.
If I remember correctly they even marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade one year.
