www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/alex-trebek-says-hes-nearing-173100421.html?.tsrc=daily_mail&uh_test=2_15It just makes me sad whenever I see him on Jeopardy now. I have faithfully watched Wheel of Fortune, followed by Jeopardy for as long as I can remember, with the exception of times when I was on the road in a truck. I can't imagine how the show will look with a new host, but then again I didn't think Price is Right would be as good without Bob Barker, but I like Drew Carey even better. I keep Alex Trebek in my prayers. Pancreatic cancer is a very painful way to die. I lost a friend to it 8 yrs ago and he suffered terribly toward the end.

I had an Aunt who died of that 2 years ago now with the better pain medications all the pain is eliminated. My cousin was pain free as he died of brain cancer but he was also out of it as he was drugged to the max. I guess that is the way to go.
I haven't watched Alex in his program is a long time I think it might be a good thing to watch now. Something tells me he wants to die on air.

Jeopardy is my favorite nonscripted TV show of all time, and Alex has been a big part of it. I used to watch Jeopardy years ago when Art Flemming was the host. He was good, but Alex is much better. I've been watching the Jeopardy series on Netflix for the past week. The series consists of the first show of every season since its beginning. It's interesting to see how Alex has aged over the years, and like most people feel, the show won't be the same without him. But HEY!... he isn't gone yet so let's keep watching.

I definitely watch faithfully as I have for years, but now the enjoyment is tarnished by a melancholy feeling of impending loss. It has become quite evident that he is failing. I have read that he sometimes has to go to his dressing room between the taping of episodes to take pain medication. It has been said that he is often ravaged with the pain while taping, but is determined to carry on as long as he is physically able to do so. I read yesterday that he is now suffering from mouth sores caused by the chemo that affects his ability to enunciate.
I am sure that after several decades of Jeopardy the producers will find a suitable replacement host, but it will not be the same to we who have watched for years. It will take some getting used to.

I used to watch the show often & got away from it but I still tune in on occasion. I just tuned in to the show & Trebek looks fine to me but I dont know when the show was taped. In any case it's a damn shame what's happening to him. Judging from interviews i think he may have thought he was cured & having found out his cancer has returned has got to be devastating. PC is lethal, its one of the most difficult conditions to treat. God speed.

Wow I watched tonight and his speak doesn't seem to be affected by the mouth sores but he might be on some medication for that. It is a shame this has to happen to such a nice, kind and intelligent guy.

I only get to watch him a couple times a week now and while he seems fine, I'm sure it's taking a toll on him. Going to be a sad day when he bows out, as I am sure he will before the end.
