Got news a little while ago that my Aunt Lucille Demma passed away. At 89 she is the last of the Aunts and Uncles on both sides of the family. When I think back at how many we had at one time I am amazed. All that is left are some cousins living in Colorado, Missouri and Chicago. They all left Utica and New York State years ago for fame and fortune and I must say are doing very well.

I am sorry to hear of our loss PB. We have reached that age where WE are the elderly ones. I am the oldest in my family with the exception of an uncle who is 92. I will keep you in my prayers. It can be a somewhat disturbing revelation to realize that we are on the downhill side of life's slope.

Sorry for your loss,
My father's two youngest siblings and my mother's youngest sister are still with us but not really "with" us. One cousin moved his parents from northern MN to Dallas and another moved her mother from Alexandria MN to the Twin Cities. Both movies were made so they could have some family nearby. Life in small town America, kids mostly leave for job opportunities.
I have 30+ cousins. So far 3 have passed away, one as a teen in a motorcycle accident, one in her 30s in a fire and one in his 50s from cancer. I guess that is good considering the age of the group. At 72 I am the oldest. The youngest is in her 40s now.
Basically the only communication I have with my cousins is Facebook. One of them is making an effort to stay in touch. Last year when we were visiting in Michigan, she and her husband drove 2 hours just t have lunch with us. This year she drove from Michigan to western MN for our family get together.
