Fiona just posted on Facebook that there is a severe storm over Rome, headed East with 60 mph winds and hail. PB, ya might want to postpone that evening walk. I hope those attending the Festival at St Mary Mount Caramel will be okay. Batten down your hatches and stay safe.
I hope that it passes by without incident or damage. WKTV doesn't have an warning issued on their website.

Funny you should mention it because we were in Rome when that storm hit. Took the grandkids out for a bite to eat & ended up in Rome at a food/ice cream joint because Voss's in Marcy was closed. We had just grabbed our order to eat outside when it hit so we had to hussle to get inside where we could get out of the weather. The wind had to be 50-60 mph with heavy rain. The storm lasted probably lasted 15- 20 minutes & was one hell of a storm. Scared the crap out of the kids but all is well, but when we returned home I found that I had left a window down in my truck & the passenger front seat got soaked. Duh!
P.S., when we left it was sunny with a heat index of 105.

Glad you and the grandkids are ok. Sounds like it was VERY scary. A friend of mine that I worked with at Griffiss lives in Camden. A large tree fell on his son's house penetrating their bathroom ceiling and one of the kid's bedrooms. Thankfully there was no one in those two rooms and nobody was injured.
Did it hit Utica and was there a lot of damage in the area?

By the time we got home things had quieted down. No damage here but there were a couple trees down in Deerfield. WKTV is covering a golf tournament so no local news.

It was not bad where I live. Rain didn't last long.

When we left for mass last night it was pouring. The wipers were on high and we could still barely see. When we got to St. John's less than a mile away the streets were completely dry.

No rain here CB until about 8PM. I do know it was clear and hot walking to Historic St John's. The new Bishop elect will be at Historic St Johns next Sat for 4PM Mass he is going to various areas in the dioceses and Utica area is his first place for Mass and say hello and get to know his people. Refreshments etc will be served after Mass in a tent on the grounds.
