UTICA, N.Y. -- An Oneida County man won $5 million on a New York Lottery scratch-off ticket that he purchased in Utica.
The man from Utica won the top prize on the “100X the Cash” scratch-off ticket, which he purchased at the Price Chopper on Genesee Street. The ticket costs $20.
New York Lottery’s Yolanda Vega will present the winner with a ceremonial check at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the grocery store.
According to the latest game report from the New York State Lottery, the scratch-off game still has four unclaimed top prize tickets. There are also 34 unclaimed second-prize tickets worth $25,000 each.
He'll regret going public. They'll all come out of the woodwork.
You can say that again. I once read a story about a guy who won big like that and just about ever person on the block he lived on was knocking on his door asking for money. One person said to him that it isn't your money you won it so come on give some away.
