No candidates on the ballot for Poland Mayor.

That is a bit unusual. One would think that there would be SOMEONE interested and active enough in local government to run for mayor. It must be a bit strange to get that call one morning, saying "Hi there. You were elected mayor yesterday by write in vote. Do ya want the job? LOL

Well someone wrote their name in and won. And accepted. I thought I'd like something like that especially if the pay was good.

I don't imagine that the job pays much in a village with a population of 500 people. Gosh when I lived in Newport in the late 70's the village of Newport had a population over 1500.

I forgot to mention but that afternoon on the news it was mentioned the job for Mayor comes with a huge yearly salary of $2,000. They can keep it.
