I would hope that they cancel them CB. The kids certainly don't need to be out in THAT weather.

Supposed to start around 5PM but Utica I now hear will only get 2 to 4 inches. I am glad the wind this afternoon was to my back both times as I walked up and down Bleecker St. Pushed me along faster and also held up my hood to my winter coat. Now that is cooperation. Today was buy a bag of apples day so I put that along with a seedless cucumber, two cans of crushed tomatoes and bag of green bell peppers in my backpack and that also helped with my leg exercise work while walking. Next time I shall add a quart of unsweetened Almond Milk.

We went to the game tonight with no problems. Both grandsons played well. We told them not to expect us tomorrow.

CB who do you nephews play for and what team did they play against.
Well I was surprised this AM to wake up run to my window and be so surprised by the abundance of fluffy white snow that fell last night. And so much of it. Should end by 1PM I hope.

Let me sort out my grandsons' soccer status. They play at the indoor soccer place next to the Westmoreland school. Mikey plays on a team in the under 12 league. Tommy plays for that team and also on a team in the under 10 league (he is 9). They play against other teams that ue that same field. The place has 3 indoor fields under one roof.
Last night's game was against a team that appeared to be mostly from Utica. They were quite good. Tommy had a good game. He is small for his age but makes up for it with speed, agility and grit. The other team won but I think by the time he is old enough to play for a school team he has the chance to be a very good player.
Last weekend we went to the under 12 game and I thought both boys did well. Tommy started the game on the bench. The other team jumped out to a 3-0 lead. The our goalie had a head to head collision with one of our defenders. The defender ended up sitting out for the rest of the game and Tommy subbed for him.
Tommy did a good job on defence and Mikey got 2 goals. I think part of the reason is that Tommy always looks for his brother first when he makes a pass and passes it not to him but to where he expects him to be when the ball gets there.

That is great for your grandsons. My two nephews started young playing hockey and baseball. Both sports from when they were very young then went on to play in school teams and eventually both played college hockey and baseball for Utica College. Jerry one to the twins was even scouted by the Dodgers and he went to their camp to try out but they only wanted pitchers ( which he could do) but he really liked playing second base. So who knows someday your grandsons might be on the Utica Football Club playing soccer.

It is hard to predict. I was never very athletic. My younger brother was. Like Tommy he was short, fast and athletic. He developed some real attitude problems as a teen and dropped out of sports.
My younger son, Michael was also similar. He didn't catch up with his classmates in height until he was a high school senior. He was also fast and athletic but dropped out of all sports as a high school sophomore.
I will support them whatever they want to do. Kids that age need space to try different things and develop their interests.
