wibx950.com/man-arrested-for-destroying-flags-at-cemetery-grave-sites/One only needs to view the photo of this idiot to realize that he is a tad unbalanced. Who the hell has a huge spider tattooed on his neck? It pretty much tells me that his good judgement is somewhat impaired. To protest against the flag and our country is one thing, but to desecrate the graves of those who fought for his freedom to be such an idiot is beyond despicable. In my less than humble opinion the guy has that tell tale "lights are on but nobody is home" look that indicates either limited mental stability or some sort of chemically induced impairment.

The flag holder on my parents grave ( father ) was stolen. I wonder if it was ever found or replaced. That is the one given by the military. Whomever did it is cursed as well as all their generations of children.

There was a spate of bronze flag holder thefts a few years ago. The American Legion in Mohawk went to plastic replicas that looks exactly like the bronze did. Kathy's uncle was very active in that post and was one of the ones that spent his Memorial Day Weekend planting flags on veteran's graves all around the valley. When he passed away I inherited 3 of those plastic holders. I replace the flag on my dad's grave twice a year and for the last 6 or 7 years the same plastic flag holder has withstood the rigors of being in a remotely located and small cemetery. I noted that the veteran's organizations don't always get around to the cemetery where my folks are buried. It is small and located in between towns. I simply insure that the flag is always fresh. He was a veteran of both WWII and Korea. Earlier this summer I dropped by the cemetery one day and found that some moron they had mowing was too lazy to get off the mower to pick up anything before he mowed. He has mowed over several artificial flower arrangements as well as well as shredding several flags that some families had stuck in the ground adjacent to their loved one's grave without a holder.
