www.wktv.com/story/36233157/nyc-hikes-price-of-pack-of-cigarettes-to-13-highest-in-usI think there is going to be a lot of traffic in the tunnels coming in from New Jersey as people head across the river to buy them by the carton. A person would be able to buy a carton of Winstons in NJ for around 81 bucks rather than paying around $130 in NYC. www.state.nj.us/treasury/taxation/pdf/other_forms/mlpcig.pdfIt will be similar to the rush to buy cigarettes at Turning Stone and their convenience stores back when we lived up there in NY and smoked. I think we were paying about $15 a carton for the Dorals that we were smoking at the time. I am sure glad that I have kicked THAT expensive habit. You can still buy a pack of Marlboro's here for about 5 or 6 bucks. You can choose between the price of a pack of smokes or patronize one of the many "vape" shops that have popped up around town, selling liquid chemicals that infuse your lungs with water vapor and chemicals with unknown long term affects on your lungs. No thanks. I will stick with atmospheric air, and take my chances with any local air pollution. If I get the urge to suck a little black crap into my lungs i will go next door and take a drag on the tailpipe of my neighbor's diesel pickup. LOL.
